We could not be happier with the dialogue and thought provoking conversations that occurred at each of the sessions during the NEWHAB/EEFA Annual convening this summer in Boston! The convening was a great success with more than 150 participants engaging in collaborative learning and solution-building sessions and plenty of networking.
We’d also like to offer a special “thank you” to our session presenters and facilitators for lending their technical expertise and thought leadership to move us toward finding workable solutions to issues surrounding the affordable multifamily housing stock as well as climate change.
The convening surfaced some important themes and possibilities for EEFA’s work and how we can address them. Three of the top takeaways that we are immediately working on are:
- The power of sharing stories and experiences – how can we best support the collection of gathering and sharing stories from different coalitions?
- Inter-coalition communication – what mechanism is the best to communicate across and within coalitions?
- Best practices repository – what is the best way to identify, store and share best practices?
As EEFA’s reach and impact continues to grow, so does the importance of collaborative learning sessions such as the EEFA/NEWHAB annual convening. As we move forward with the recommendations, we welcome any and all feedback and suggestions. Together we can solve the complex problems that we can’t solve alone!
