Newly released federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can be used by state and local governments to help renters pay their housing costs. Still, advocacy is needed to make this happen.
NHT has developed a one-pager making the case that state and local officials should prioritize the use of CDBG funds to provide rental assistance to ensure that impacted families can remain stably housed during and after the COVID-19 crisis.
Please consider sending a letter to your state and local officials urging them to support rental assistance using the talking points in the one-pager. You can download an Excel spreadsheet to look up how many funds are going to your city and state.
