The California Low Income Weatherization Program-Multifamily (LIWP-Multifamily) uses post-retrofit energy bill data to track cost and energy savings long after the construction crews leave the site. The retrofits completed at Almond Court, a rural farmworker property in Wasco, CA, included electrification, building envelope and mechanical system improvements, and solar PV.
One year after construction, LIWP-Multifamily confirmed a 44% reduction in actual resident energy use (combined BTU savings) and an 18% cost savings in resident utility bills from energy efficiency and electrification measures alone.
